Obenseuer is a "Concretepunk" roleplaying game made by Loiste Interactive, that set in Stalburg's rundown residential district of Obenseuer, and is a spin-off of INFRA. The game was originally released on December 12th, 2018 but went under an overhaul to be re-released in Early Access on November 17th, 2023.

Overview

Obenseuer mixes aspects of survival, exploration and management game, presenting a world where player struggles to climb up ladders of social structures, from being on bare bottom to living a decenet live. Player will struggle with basics of human survival like hunger, thirst and wellness of mental health, as well as different addictions to learn ways to overcome them.

One of the main objectives of the game is to run own tenement building as a landlord, renovate it, find potential tenants and make profit from it, while in the meantime player focus on producing various goods and completing story quests.

Reception

Prototype (12/12/2018)

Obenseuer held a 77% "Mostly Positive" rating on steam with a total of 44 reviews. General sentement was that the game had issues, mostly in areas of bugs and performance, but held potential with fixes and additional content.

Overhaul (17/11/2023)

The game currently holds a 82% "Very Positive" overall rating on steam with a total of 131 reviews, Currently, there are no external reviews as of 30/11/2023.

Triva

  • The nickname "Open Sewer" stemmed from the appalling conditions it's residents live in, between a major housing crisis, substance abuse and an SMV epidemic ripping through the population, the name was only fitting.
