ROMU is the main contractor for commercial elevators, escalators, and industrial gantry cranes around Stalburg. Their elevators are known to lock-up during and after power outages.

Products

ROMU manufactures two commercial elevators, a model with access doors on two opposite sides, used on many Stalburg Metro stations, and a single-door one, used in Alcista Complex. Both models have max weight limit of 16 persons or 1250 kg. In all commercial elevators produced by ROMU, in case of an emergency, blackout, or maintenance, the doors can be opened manually by overriding fuses B2 and B3.

Many metro stations use escalator stairs manufactured by ROMU as a primary way to access underground platforms.

ROMU also contracts large gantry cranes and has two models; A larger model used at the turbine hall and reactor hall of the Black Rock Nuclear Power Plant, and a smaller model, with a lifting capacity of 16 tons, that is used at the steel rolling hall of Stalburg Steel.

Trivia

  • The name ROMU is Finnish for scrap, junk, while it originates from romista, meaning to crash, make a crashing sound.
    • The company itself is inspired by a real Finnish elevator and escalator manufacturer called KONE.
