Interview Radio is a set piece present at the beginning of the Obenseuer game, as the player character gets questioned about their origin.

This set piece was originally present in the Prototype version and was preserved in the Overhaul update.

Setup

After player's turn number changes to 4027 from 4026,[1] the interview booth opens and the interviewers appear on the screens.[2] As they appear, the radio starts playing on a loop.

Puzzle

On the radio a distorted male speech is heard, reversing the extracted or recorded audio reveals the speech is part of the BBC Radio 4 weather report in two segments:

On FM, on the wave, on digital radio and online. This is BBC Radio 4.

Generally dry day on Wednesday with some periods. However, there may be more cloud in the southeast where it will be breezier after a chilly starts. It will be mostly. However it may be rather cloudy in the southeast. Patchy rain world.

It might not be the full transcript, a femine voice is heard in the report as well. Real report the audio was taken from is not determined yet.

Beeping is heard throughout the transmission, spectogram of the audio will reveal a morse code:

-.-. --- -.. . ---... / .-. .- ...- . -. .-.-.-

... - .- - ..- ... ---... / ..-. .- .. .-.. ..- .-. . .-.-.-

-- . ... ... .- --. . ---... / . ...- .- -.-. ..- .- - . / - .... . / .- .-. . .-

.. -- -- . -.. .. .- - . .-.. -.-- .-.-.-

.- .-. . .- / .. ... / -.-. ---

Decoded reveals:

CODE: RAVEN.

STATUS: FAILURE.

MESSAGE: EVACUATE THE AREA

IMMEDIATELY.

AREA IS CO

It is possible the encoded message suddenly cuts off at CO, not showing the full word.

Notes

  1. Not present in the Prototype version
  2. In the Prototype version the interview was made in person, not via screens, the original interviewer was Axel Norberg, who after Overhaul update was moved to another post
