At some point before the events of Infra, a [[SMV#Mushroom_Types|green mushroom]] infestation occurred in the back room of the laboratory at the Pitheath Water Treatment Plant. Workers took advantage of this infestation, and harvested it for their own recreational use. The water began to show signs of pollution immediately before the events of Infra, results that can be recreated by Mark using a water sample at the laboratory. The pollution only got worse, and during the events of Infra, fish began to die off in the canal waters.
