After Xeander Berg's escape from the bunker, he managed to get in contact with Jeff Walter. Walter used his finances to provided a Berg with a hiding spot in a local resident's cellar to hide from S.N.W operatives. However, Berg was showing symptoms of SMV, he documented his own attempts to find a cure for the disease in his diary. Unfortunately, he was unable to develop one and succumbed to the virus. Some time later, Erik Kleinmann discovered his body, or what remained of it, and possibly committed suicide or became infected himself. | |||
When Mark arrives on the island, his path to the NCG office in Point Elias is blocked by a raised drawbridge, he must find another way underneath through the maintenance area of the bridge, which has been robbed by moonshiners. Mark scavenges the island for the missing components to repair the bridge's generators and grant him passage. | |||
