At some point before the events of Infra, a green mushroom infestation occurred in the back room of the laboratory at the Pitheath Water Treatment Plant. Workers took advantage of this infestation, and harvested it for their own recreational use. The water began to show signs of pollution immediately before the events of Infra, results that can be recreated by Mark using a water sample at the laboratory. The pollution only got worse, and during the events of Infra, fish began to die off in the canal waters. Shortly before Mark arrives at the treatment plant, water flow monitors began to show that water flow through key tunnels had stopped. The employees of the plant, with this knowledge, immediately evacuated themselves, and attempted to shut down and barricade the plant to hide the information from the public. Mark arrives at the facility, repairs the secondary clarifiers to pass through to the monitoring facility, and reports his findings at the water flow monitoring room. He escapes the locked building, and continues on to get back to the office.

===Pitheath Water Treatment Plant===
The Pitheath Water Treatment Plant is part of Stalburg Water, responsible for converting the water pumped out of the tunnels into clean water for use by the citizens. It has been relatively well maintained, but recently showed signs of failure in its machinery and buildings. For example, the security system often triggers itself without any intrusion, the chlorine building has sprung a deadly leak, and the software running the grit classifiers is corrupted. Unusually, the security building's employee of the year sign had not been updated for three decades, and there is a newspaper from when the Stalburg Steel Factory shut down on a desk.
