While Carla seems to have been knowing Mark before the game takes place, she also appears in a few levels:
In the Nuclear Power Plant, Mark needs to save Carla and her coworker Amit Rahal, who are stuck in a back room. Before finding the key to free them, Mark hears Carla swear at him, mainly for drinking Osmo Olut.
If you manage to save the plant, Carla also sits in the helicopter next to you. In either one of the three Endings, the player recieves an apology from her for being so rude.
