In the third possible ending, the player wakes up in a cottage in Finland. There, Mark is recovering from the radiation from the Nuclear Power Plant.
This is the "Horrible" ending, as Mark was not able to save Stalburg and only just avoided death, while wide parts of Stalburg are now irradiated.
Requirements
To get to this ending, you are required to have failed saving the Blackrock Nuclear Power Plant from exploding in the last level. Photos or corruption scores do not matter here.
Emails and news
- An email From his boss, Paul Lauwrens, asking if Mark is fine after being exposed to all that radiation. He also asks if Mark wants to join the surveys of the fallout.
- An email from Rob, talking about his "Gift" (The coffee maker) that he made with Robin. This requires you to have saved Robin at the start of Part 3 and to have helped Rob get the pipe in Turnip Hill.
- An email from Carla with apologies for being rude and asking Mark to help with the surveys of the radiation.
- POSSIBLY an encrypted email from Raven Research, thanking Mark for his efforts revealing the conspiracy, but also asking him to send them anything else he finds out. This requires a high corruption score.
- POSSIBLY an email by Osmo Olut with a 50% discount on beer. This requires a low corruption score.
The newspaper is about the population starting to get worried about the polluted water. The CEO of Stalburg Water apparently denies these claims. This is the same as in the Good Ending.
The TV talks about the explosion of the Nuclear Power Plant and the consequences: Thousands of people died, but not all of Stalburg is radiated. The reason for the explosion was poor maintenance and thus the collapse of the Two Gorges Dam is explained. Osmo Olut buying the Walter Tower and the collapse of the Bergmann tunnels are also mentioned.
If you have a high corruption score, you also find out that Stalburg's mayor Altmeier has resigned due to the high amount of corruption documents that have been uncovered.
