=Story=
Decades before Infra, there was an electric motor factory in the area, as well as functional canal sluice gates. In 1983, a strange smell began to emerge from the canals, and the canal operators noticed in their yearly inspections. This smell was caused by a backup in industrial waste caused by an unknown party closing off waste flow from the electric motor factory. A year later, an unnamed group began to protest this perceived pollution caused by the factory, and the factory was pressured into shutting down operations. The sewage dam was re-opened, but the smell remained. Years later, enterprising mushroom farmers took over the abandoned factory and began to grow green mushrooms there, even developing ways to preserve mushrooms through the tough Stalburg winters. Shortly before the events of Infra, Greenwar began a protest at the canal against the smell it emitted, and the pollution running through it. Meanwhile, a recent group of hackers holed up in an abandoned building at the end of the canals had infiltrated the computer systems of NCG. This hacking of their servers revealed telling information and plans about a very old SNW group. This information was so sensitive that it caught the eye of the government, and the hackers' leader became increasingly paranoid, going as far as to install poison systems to defend the den against the government and other parties. During the events of Infra, Mark enters the hacker's den, disables their security systems, and accidentally falls into the sewers below.

Meanwhile, a recent group of hackers holed up in an abandoned building at the end of the canals had infiltrated the computer systems of [[National Consulting Group|NCG]]. This hacking of their servers revealed telling information and plans about a very old [[S.N.W]] group. During the events of Infra, Mark enters the hacker's den, disables their security systems, and accidentally falls into the sewers below.

===Hacker's Den===
===Hacker's Den===
The hacker's den is a small building used by squatters as their base of operations. Their activities were referenced by the mushroom farmer in Furnace, and they seem to represent "interne.ts." Their building has a built in security defense, one that developed over time from remote locking doors to poison systems. This security was implemented by an increasingly paranoid lead-hacker who was researching "S.N.W."

===Pitheath Sludge Canal===
===Pitheath Sludge Canal===
This section of the Pitheath Canals controlled a few sluice gates to control the flow of the canal water into runoff ditches and tunnels. It is currently heavily polluted, populated by dead fish, and backed up. Near the end of this section of canals is a biker bar, home to the Devil's Angels biker gang.
