Kevin Herts is a minor character who is probably the son of Andrew Herts, who built "the machine". He wrote the book "The Legend of the Stalburg Underground". A book in his apartment explains how he wants to "continue his father's work." In tenements, Kevin can be seen in his apartment, where his body is being consumed by shrooms. He is a victim of the SMV virus.
Fate
Kevin is found by Mark in his apartment where he is being consumed by shrooms. In the room he's in, there are several barrels of "liquid gypsum", a soil cleanser, and a thick layer of dirt. There are also two petrol cans containing an unknown substance on the sofa. Since the barrels were moved in here for a single purpose it is possible his conversion is intentional.
