Markku Siltanen is a structural analyst and engineer employed by the National Consulting Group, and the protagonist of the game. He is commonly referred to as Mark, as he considers it easier to pronounce than his actual name (Mark has a sticky note outside his office stating "When in doubt, call me Mark"). He speaks with a heavy accent, and talks to himself under certain circumstances.
Personal Life
Not much is known about Mark's personal life. He was presumably born in Finland and currently resides in Stalburg.
Personality
Mark has a notably dry and sarcastic personality, as shown by his dialogue in Infra. He's well-liked by Amit and Phil regardless, as he's a hard worker. However, his personality also causes Carla to dislike him. Mark, however, seems to deeply care about doing what's right, as shown when the "Save Robin" action is taken.
NCG
Mark is an employee of the National Consulting Group, and is most likely a senior engineer, due to his office overlooking the rest of the city.
Story
Mark was assigned to survey critical infrastructure around the Hammer Valley Dam and the nearby Bergmann Water Tunnels.
Trivia
- Players will never see his face, even in mirrors, this is referenced in the first ending with a sticky note on a mirror saying "You're a vampire Mark"). His face however is visible on the "The Engineer" poster seen in-game in the map business. This is an edited version of a picture of Mark posted on the game's ModDB page.
