Wasteland is a secret map, and a part of the ARG in INFRA. The entire area is pitch black, what appears to be ash is falling from the sky, and Mark's vision becomes monochromatic. Scattered across the wasteland are many random models, a crashed metro train, street lamps, a radio and more. Near the borders of the map, a Geiger counter can be heard, and getting too close to the edge of the map is fatal.

The center of the map hosts an antenna tower emitting a red light. A hidden hatch is accessible next to the tower in the middle of the map, (the key for which is in a box under the cell tower) which contain a series of notes, providing information regarding the game's ulterior lore and the ARG, as well as a model of a white mask. Other models include: A desk and chair, a broken forklift, a plastic jug, two parallel pipes, a bicycle, a stop sign, a couch, a pallet, a ladder, three plastic liquid containers, and a lawn chair. Additionally there are several large rocks strewn about the landscape.

Gameplay

To access the wasteland, you need to have called the phone number on the "missing dock" poster from Stalburg Steel. From there, you need to get inside the parking lot inside the apartment building in Point Elias and drink the mushroom tea on the refurbished dock. Mark can spend up to 5 minutes in Wasteland, overtime he'll begin to take periodic damage, and a sudden white flash will then blind him. Mark will reawaken back in front of the dock.

Trivia

  • The whole map is theorized to be an alternate reality in which S.N.W. detonated their nuclear weapons.
  • Curiously, when opening the map in Hammer in a birds-eye view, certain texture patterns can be seen on the terrain resembling the symbols in the Elo hideout symbols code. These are painted on with the displacement "paint alpha" tool.
  • The wrecked train is the same train found in the S.N.W. bunker.
  • One of the street lights flashes 3 times in quick succession repeatedly.
