This page is about a group of people in Obenseuer game; for the person seen in the Underground Justice ending in INFRA, see: Interviewer

The Interviewers are a group of at least 7 people, who are responsible for border checkpoints and transfers between main Stalburg city and Obenseuer district. The Interviewers are also a quest giver, and they give the first quest in the game, the Abandoned Tenement quest.

Apperance

6 out of 7 interviewers always appear from remote locations, seen exclusievely via screens. They cite security concerns as the reason for the usage of screens.[1] Out of the 7 people, one person - a woman, always appears on a larger dominant screen, above the screens of other interviewers. The remaining single person not using screen, is seen in-person during preliminary assessment meeting before the Obenseuer's Protagonist is sent on their mission.

Speculative Information

In the Prototype version of Open Sewer, Axel Norberg serves the duties of the border guard who interviews people arriving in the Obenseuer. It is possible this aspect of the lore is still canon with the current version, and Axel was transferred to Bazaar border checkpoint after being replaced by the Interviewers. Anya's reaction to the fact Interviewers use screens also suggests it is a relatively recent change of status quo on the border checkpoint.[2]

If the Player uses console command to enter starting Border Checkpoint with an OsRat, a unique encounter will be possible to trigger, showing the Interviewer from Underground Justice ending from INFRA, sitting in a chair at the interview booth. This suggests a connection between these characters.
