BC Era[edit | edit source]

5000 BC
  • Water breaks through rock in modern day Stalburg, creating a gorge later known as Hammer Grip Gorge.

1200s[edit | edit source]

1266
  • The City of Stalburg is founded as an iron mining settlement in the area currently known as "Old town". A small castle is built to protect the new founded settlement.

1400s[edit | edit source]

  • The original settlement suffered great damage during the Stalburg Fire. After the incident, the city was decided to be relocated to the current site of the city center at a bay 5km east of the original location, due to the obscure location for its port and rough, cliffed terrain. The old castle was abandoned and a new fort was built to cover the location of the new Stalburg.

1600s[edit | edit source]

  • The city of Stalburg begins to grow fast, becoming a wealthy and important harbor and trading city in the Baltic region. Many new sea forts were built to protect the important port.

1800s[edit | edit source]

  • The city’s status as an important port and iron mine allowed the city to industrialize fast, boosting the city’s growth and economy even more. Many factories were constructed in districts around city limits and coast, such as the ‘Foundry’. Railroads were also constructed. On the flip side of the coin, the fast industrialization caused many people seeking jobs to migrate into the city faster than new apartments and tenements could be built, causing the formation of slums around the city. During that time the city also suffered some sanitation, pollution and health issues.
Late 1800s
  • Löfgren’s Massif and two other stone buildings are built in the Echtfjord district of Stalburg.
  • Work starts on improving Stalburg's sanitation and water quality. Sewers and water pipes are built under the city.
  • Edward Kleinmann founds Kleinmann Bauausführung in St. Gallen, Switzerland. They become Europe's leading pioneers in underground construction and boring.
1881
  • Stalburg Times is founded.
1889
  • Happy Funeral Services is founded.

After the Second World War (1945-)
  • Eric Kleinmann takes over Kleinmann Bauausführung from his father.
  • Eric Kleinmann teams up with Belgian scientist Xeander Berg. Kleinmann Bauausführung is renamed to Bergmann group. The company begins extensive researching and development, eventually inventing textile-reinforced concrete made of a mix of steel and titanium, an innovation that further forced the company's reputation as a leader in underground construction.
  • Jeff Walter founds a company named Walter Corporation, and the company helps rebuild the city's infrastructure.
  • Stalburg Nuclear Weapons is founded to defend Stolland in case of a third world war. Jeff Walter initially funds the project. The organization becomes corrupt.

1961

Several weeks later however, Berg is kidnapped by Stalburg Nuclear Weapons and all his research is confiscated. He is forced to work in the SNW Bunker under Walter Tower. He becomes the head of science team B2.
  • Without the help of Bergmann group's co owners, the company begins to run into issues during the constriction of a large project in West Germany as Eric Kleinmann's mental state begins to deteriorate.
  • While constructing a cistern in Stalburg, Bergmann Group's account is frozen by Stalburg Bank to prevent financial damages after mismanagement of the construction.
  • S.N.W. begins to see Bergmann Group as a threat that may accidentally expose the S.N.W. project and the underground bunker. They begin a plan of attempting to bankrupt and take over the company.
Late 1970s
  • Walter Corporation's involvement in constructing tenements in Obenseuer increases in attempt to house the city's growing workforce.
1979
  • Shareholders lose faith in Bergmann Group, causing Kleinmann to sell the company. SNW blackmails Jeff Walter into buying the up the company, and force him to cancel many projects in the city centre to prevent workers finding the bunker. SNW begins using the Bergmann Group's water tunnels to smuggle nuclear material around Stalburg.
  • May 25: Bergmann Group begins constructing a fresh water tunnel intended to run from Ilanka to the Stalburg Central Water Plant, the tunnel is expected to solve all the city's water problems by bringing fresh water from Lake Stalburg. The initial estimates place the finishing date at 1983. Hammer Valley Hydro also partners with Bergmann Group to build several hydroelectric power plants in the tunnel. Greenwar, an environmentalist group, believes that the water tunnel will cause the water in Lake Stalbutg to drop, causing ecological damage.
  • May 26: Stalburg Times publishes the article "Bergmann Group Begins Work on the New Fresh Water tunnel".
  • The construction of the freshwater tunnel faces many issues, with the project being cancelled many times and the chance of a strike was very high. The CEO of Hammer Valley Hydro, Alex Hartman, travels to the site of the project and gives Bergmann Group advice on how to continue the project.

  • Jeff Walter grows suspicious of S.N.W., and he sends an employee into the bunker. S.N.W. discovers that he is planning to expose them to the public and they try to apprehend him. The founding year of the company has several inconsistencies and contradictions, making the definite placement uncertain:
    • A guard stationed at Hammer Valley National Park mentions drinking Osmo Olut in his note from 1982;
    • Employee phones at Stalburg Steel administration building, among useful phone numbers, list Osmo Olut Customer Service, despite the collapse of Stalburg Steel in 1981 was one of the reasons Osmo Olut was founded in the first place;

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Obenseuer is spelled "Obenseur" in a Stalburg Times Newspaper articles and by Stalburg News presenter (subtitles only) in the third ending. This is likely a mistake.
  • Several newspapers reference real-world events that occurred on the same date.
