Obenseuer/Skills

In Obenseuer, player undertakes in various crafts they can gain skill at, each skill is represented by its union.

Skills affect quality, time and fail chances of processed and farmed products, only the lockpicking and bribery skills affect the difficulty level of performed craft. Skill is gained when said craft is performed, if the process is failed, gain to skill will be lower, but not non-existent. Some skills might be harder to gain due to frequency of needing to perform them, like Chemistry or Paperwork. For crafting skills, the level is gained once process is finished, for farming skill, it is gained with each planted produce, not once it fully grows.

Player starts on level 1 on each skill and is able to gain skills up to the level 10, upon reaching it, Union representing that skill will send a package of decorative flags via mail. Player can concurrently gain multiple skills and receive union gifts from multiple of them.

Skills

Chemistry

Skill is gained when crafting is performed on a Chemical Lab, one can be found at Deekula A8 apartment or at Dr. Pena MD's office or crafted upon finding an associated blueprint, player can get more chemical recipes on the course of specific quests, like the Homecoming Celebration, or from exploration, like breaking into Skeida Pharmacy.

Farming

Main article: Farming

Skill is gained when plants are placed in any farm, large farm fields at Kurahaara's Greenhouse have lesser gain to skill due to ability to mass planting. Player may wish to invest in crafting or buying their own farms to master the skill quicker.

Brewing

Main article: Fermenting

Skill is gained when alcohol fermentation is completed in a Fermenting Bucket or a Fermenting Barrel, which can be crafted upon finding an associated blueprint of bought at Samuel Jonasson's. The amount of gained skill is also dependent on the size of started batch, which the player can start if the ratios are correct for a larger batch.

Engineering

Skill is gained when crafting is performed on 3D Printer, one can be found at hacker den in Deekula B7 apartment, player can get printing recipes from daily mail.

Bribery

Skill is gained from working at Telemarketing Job at OS Telemarketing Company in Kolhola A or from attempts to bribe militiamen and jail guard, higher levels increase chances of successful bribe and the payout for Telemarketing Job.

Mashing

Main article: Mashing

Skill is gained when mash brewing is completed in a Mashing Kettle or a Mashing Tun, which can be crafted upon finding an associated blueprint of bought at Samuel Jonasson's. The amount of gained skill is also dependent on the size of started batch, which the player can start if the ratios are correct for a larger batch.

Manufacturing

General skill associated with all machines that are not specialized for existing crafts, including blacksmithing, machining tools and grinding wood to sawdust, player can get more manufacturing recipes from daily mail or from exploration, like investigating Deekula B2 apartment.

Carpentry

Skill is gained when crafting is performed on Sawbucks, Table Saw or Bendsaw, Sawbucks can be found at the ground floor and at the attic of Deekula A building and one is given inside Player's Apartment, Table Saw is found at Hank Möbelmann's workshop, more can be bought at Samuel Jonasson's. Player can try various wood ingredients to guess the recipes.

Cooking

Main article: Cooking

Skill is gained when player cooks food using Stoves, Ovens, Kitchen sets or Microwaves, which are commonly found around various apartments or can be bought at Samuel Jonasson's. Player can find commonly a lot of cooking recipes from exploration and they receive them daily via a Mail, depending on the recipe, player can also guess to learn them if they get all the right ingredients into a cooking station.

Paperwork

Skill is gained when crafting is performed on a Copy Machine or Printing Press, one can be found at Hostel Warehom and at OS Telemarketing Company office in Kolhola A building or at Deekula A attic, respectively. Player can get paperwork recipes on the course of specific quests, like the Missing Debitcard.

Distilling

Main article: Distilling

Skill is gained when alcohol distillation is completed in a Small or Medium Moonshine Distillery, which can be crafted upon finding an associated blueprint of bought at Samuel Jonasson's. The amount of gained skill is also dependent on the size of started batch, which the player can start if the ratios are correct for a larger batch.

Lockpicking

Main article: Lockpicking

Skill is gained when player attempts lockpicking locked doors, lockers or suitcases, successful attempts have a higher skill gain in compare to failed ones, the higher the difficulty of the lock is, the larger the skill gain will be on a successful lockpick. Higher levels of lockpicking lower the difficulty of the attempted locks, many lockpicked locks will eventually get replaced by new ones, giving opportunity to train the skill on them again.

Machining

Skill is gained when crafting of metal items is performed on a Angle Grinder, Geared Head Drill or Metalworking Lathe, a Geared Head Drill can be found at the lower floor of Deekula B9 apartment and an Angle Grinder can be found at Kolhola A14 apartment, player can get more machining recipes from the exploration, like breaking into the Kolhola A14 apartment.

Trivia

• In INFRA, one more active workers union is featured that is not present in Obenseuer, the Public Transport Workers Union (PTWU).
• Brewery Workers Union is briefly mentioned in INFRA as a sender of beer cases to the Union of Metal Workers' building.
