To start a Chicken farm, the Player needs [[Obenseuer/Machines#Chicken_Coops|Chicken Coops]], these come in two different sizes - small and large - that define how many chickens can fit inside at the same time. The player's first Chicken(s) can be found within Deekula C Apartment C5. The apartment is only covered by a tarp door and the Chick can be found wandering inside. Due to how chick growing works, after a while this chick will turn into a standard chicken.

Uniquely among farmable animals, Chicken offspring first starts off as a Fertilized Egg, which hatches into a Chick, which then grows into a Chicken. This growth occurs even if these items are not inside the coop.

All three of these can be placed into the coop, however only Chickens will lay eggs while inside the coop.
