In Obenseuer to power various machines and equipment, player needs various types of fuel.

Burnable Fuel

Organic-based solid fuels that can be burned to start a fire, are the primary way to power most early machines in the game, including Furnace Stoves, Mashing Tuns, Sauna Stoves and Grills.

To power a machine, player has to interact with it and move a piece of burnable fuel into a fuel slot below power button, then press the said power button. Player needs to have a Matchbox or a Lighter in their inventory to start a fire when pressing the power button.

When the fuel is fully burned, it will yield ash into the slot below the fuel slot, which will need to be cleared out from time to time.

In the current version of the game, a serious game-bug is present in which the fuel-based machines have the fuel slot grayed out, preventing player from placing any burnable fuel into it. Consider the following to try to fix it: save your game to a new slot, re-launch the game and load that slot; issue will be fixed in the next major update.

Electricity

Electricity powers many cheap or advanced electric machines, acting as an upgrade over burnable fuel. In the district, all major tenement complexes are connected to the power grid, however specific apartments, pieces of equipment or other areas of interest might be permanently disconnected or may require insertion of Industrial Fuses into a fuseboard inside that place, and in some cases, switching on a power lever.

To power a machine, player has to interact with it and press the power button.

Currently the game does not have a proper electricity system implemented for the Player's Tenement, and thus any electric machine placed there will work from the start. Electricity-related renovations do not affect electricity machines as of right now.

Acetylen Gas

Stored inside bottles, Acetylen is used in metallurgy to power smelting furnaces, such as Brick Furnace and Gas Furnace.

To acquire Acetylen, player can purchase bottles of it from Hardware Stall or the One Stop Shop, or find them during looting. Player can also turn biowaste into more gas using a Biogas Reactor, resuppling empty bottles.

To power a furnace, player has to interact with an adjacent external bottle slot next to the furnace and place there up to a two bottles. From within interacting with the furnace itself, player can now turn on the power button, however the gas will be constantly drained as long as the power button is on, even if no crafting process is started.

Diesel

Currently it has no use, however in future updates it will be used to power Mini Generators and Minitrains.
