Jail
The Jail is a prison located in the Gatehouse within the Residental District Zone, where the player is sent to by the police if the player chooses to commit any crimes.
Getting Arrested
- When the player commits a crime, they will gain a wanted status and begin to be chased down by the police.
- If the player is caught by the police, they are placed to one of the two cells inside the jail.
- As of now, the only way to remove your wanted status is to hide from the police within the Player's Tenement and wait. (verify)
Confinement
If the player is arrested, the player will be instantly moved to a jail cell located in the Gatehouse, and placed in to one of the two available jail cells.
Sustenance/Interaction
- The player will be provided a daily food-ration to prevent starvation and dehydration.
- The player can interact with the jail guard by pressing a call button within the cell.
- The player can ask for the remaining sentence, attempt to bribe the jail guard, or ask for items.
- If the player calls the jail guard too many times, the guard will enter the jail cell and attack the player.
- If the player calls the jail guard from an opposite cell, the guard will attach the player.
- The player can turn on/off the jail guard's TV.
- If the player turns off the TV, they will be attacked.
Personal Items
- The player's personal items will be taken away and stored into storage lockers next to the jail guard.
- Any Owned/Stolen items that the player had on them during imprisonment will be permanently removed, unless stored inside of a backpack.
Passing Time
- To pass the time, the player can do the following things:
- Sleep on the bed located in the cell.
- Pass 2 hours with a video game console or Osmo Olut magazine.
- Note: Reading the Osmo Olut magazine will increase the player's alcohol addiction, even if the current addiction level is 0.
- Pass 4 hours by scratching the wall, or talking to Colton in the right cell.
- Note: In order to do any of these activities, the player must satiate their hunger, thirst, and mental health.
Escaping Confinement
In order to leave the jail, the player must either serve their sentence or escape.
Serving Time
- The player can wait out their jail time, and upon completing their time served, the door will unlock and the player can collect their belongings and leave.
Bribery
- In order for the player to bribe their way out of prison, the player must interact with the jail guard and bribe them with currency.
- The bribe has a chance of releasing the player, or extending their confinement if failed. (verify)
Escaping Prison
- In order for the player to escape the prison, the player must acquire a lockpick to open the cell door or vent in the back of the cell.
- A lockpick can sometimes spawn underneath the bed located within the cell, inside of a small drain.
- The player can also stash lockpicks in this drain, in the event of future imprisonment.
- Upon lockpicking the cell doors and sneaking out, the player can leave the prison through the stairwell.
- An additional way to escape the prison is by opening a tunnel escape route through the Getting a Passport quest, by doing the following:
- Configure the Control Panel to open the "Main 02" Gate.
- Open the lower flood door located in the lower floor of the control room.
- With an extra hand wheel, add another wheel to the other side of the same lower flood door.
- Lockpick open the ventilation shaft door located at the end of the tunnel that connects to the jail.
- Occasionally, as an advantage to the player, the jail guard will take naps and become unresponsive to the player's actions. However, the guard can still be alerted even when asleep by the following conditions:
- If the player is detected by a security camera.
- To disable the security cameras, the player can disable the fuses next to the jail guard's desk.
- If the player is detected by the alarm system.
- To disable the alarm system, the player can disable the same fuses next to the jail guard's desk (as mentioned above).
